Community Guidelines
Circles are small and topic communities of women at the same stage of life. Groups are private circles for people you already know: a team’s parents, a class, friends. They’re for adults (18+). Members keep them kind and safe together.
Be the person you’d want to meet
- Be kind, even when you disagree. Everyone’s choices about feeding, birth, work and parenting are their own.
- Share your experience, not instructions. Never tell someone to stop medicine, skip care or ignore warning signs.
- Use a content note for loss, a hard birth, or anything graphic, so others can choose.
- Keep it here: don’t screenshot or share what others post, or anyone’s personal details.
Never allowed
- Hate, slurs, or attacks on anyone’s identity
- Harassment, bullying, threats, or encouraging violence
- Sexual content, and anything sexualising anyone under 18
- Content that encourages self-harm, suicide or disordered eating
- Dangerous health claims (for example, against vaccines or emergency care)
- Selling, advertising, spam, fundraising links or MLM recruiting
- Sharing someone’s private information, or pretending to be someone else
How circles look after themselves
- A word filter stops slurs and common spam before they’re posted.
- Reports: when enough members report a post (2 in a small or private circle, 3 in a larger one), it’s hidden. Reports from long-standing, trusted members count more.
- Hosts: any member can volunteer to host a circle and help keep it on track.
- Strikes: posts hidden for breaking these guidelines lead to a pause on posting, and repeated breaches to suspension from Circles.
- Appeals: if your post was hidden and you think that was wrong, appeal from the post. Grrl reviews appeals and anything reported in a circle without a host.
- Worried about someone? Report the post as “They may be unsafe”. She gets a private note with where to find help. It never hides her post.
Emergencies
Circles aren’t watched in real time. If someone may be in danger, call your local emergency number. See Safety for crisis lines.
Groups
Group organisers decide who’s invited, and can remove members. Rotas and events are arrangements between members; agree the details between you.
Breaking these guidelines can lead to removal of content or accounts under our Terms. Questions: hello@grrl.app.
