Terms of Service
In short
- Grrl helps you log, understand and plan. It isn’t a medical device and doesn’t replace a doctor or midwife.
- In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
- Fertility predictions are for trying to conceive only, not for birth control.
- Your content stays yours. Be kind in Circles and groups.
- Grrl Plus renews automatically until you cancel, and you can cancel any time in a few taps.
1. This agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and [Legal entity name] (“Grrl”, “we”). By creating an account or using Grrl, you agree to them and to our Community Guidelines. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
2. Who can use Grrl
- You must be at least 13. If you’re under the age of majority where you live, you may use Grrl only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these terms for you.
- Circles, groups and Grrl Plus purchases are for people aged 18 and over.
- You give your real birth month and year, keep your password safe, and tell us at hello@grrl.app if you think someone else is using your account.
3. Health information: what Grrl is and isn’t
- Grrl gives general information from public health bodies and clinical guidelines, and shows patterns in what you log. It doesn’t diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, and it’s not a substitute for professional care. Always follow your own doctor’s, midwife’s or nurse’s advice.
- Emergencies: if you or anyone else might be in danger, call your local emergency number. First-aid guides are a reminder of steps, not a replacement for training or the emergency call handler’s instructions.
- Fertility: predicted fertile days and ovulation are estimates for trying to conceive. They are not contraception and must not be used to avoid pregnancy.
- Self-checks (such as the PHQ-9 or EPDS) are for your information, not a diagnosis.
- Circles are peer support between members, not medical advice, and aren’t monitored in real time.
4. Your content
You own what you log, write, post and upload. You give us a limited licence to store, copy, display and process it only to run Grrl for you and the people you choose (for example, to show your event page to your guests). This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies others legitimately kept (such as a message you sent to someone else’s tracker) and backups that expire within 7 days.
When you add other people’s information (guests, people you invite, your children), you confirm you have the right to do so and will use it only for the purpose you added it.
5. Event pages, sharing and groups
- Event pages are public to anyone with the link. Don’t publish anything you wouldn’t want guests to see. You can unpublish at any time.
- Group organisers are responsible for what they organise (lifts, snacks, meet-ups). Grrl only provides the tools and isn’t a party to any arrangement between members.
6. Things you must not do
- Break the law, or our Community Guidelines.
- Harass, threaten, impersonate or exploit anyone, or post sexual content involving anyone under 18.
- Upload malware, try to access other accounts or our systems, scrape Grrl, or overload it.
- Use Grrl to sell, advertise or spam.
We may remove content or restrict or close accounts that break these terms, and we’ll tell you why unless that would be unsafe or unlawful. You can appeal by emailing hello@grrl.app.
7. Grrl Plus
- What it is: a subscription that unlocks extra features, described in the app. The price, billing period and currency are shown before you subscribe. If you share a tracker, its Plus covers your partner too.
- Free trial: new subscribers get a free trial (currently 14 days). You add a payment method to start it. We remind you before it ends. If you don’t cancel before the trial ends, your subscription starts and you’re charged.
- Automatic renewal: your subscription renews automatically at the end of each monthly or yearly period, at the then-current price, until you cancel. We’ll tell you at least 30 days before any price increase takes effect, and you can cancel before it does.
- Cancelling: any time, online, in Me → Grrl Plus → Manage, or by emailing hello@grrl.app. You keep Plus until the end of the period you’ve paid for; you won’t be charged again.
- Refunds: payments are non-refundable except where the law requires, or where we made a mistake. If you live in the UK or EU, you have 14 days from purchase to cancel and get a refund, reduced for any part of the period you’ve used. Purchases through an app store follow that store’s refund rules.
- Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your card number. Under-18s can’t buy Plus; everything in Grrl is open to them free.
8. Changes to Grrl and these terms
Grrl will keep changing. If we remove a paid feature you rely on, you can cancel and get a pro-rata refund. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the app at least 30 days before; if you keep using Grrl after that, the new terms apply. If you don’t agree, you can delete your account.
9. Ending this agreement
You can stop using Grrl and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts for serious or repeated breaches of these terms, or if the law requires. If we close Grrl altogether, we’ll give you at least 60 days’ notice and time to export your data.
10. Disclaimers
We work hard to make Grrl accurate, safe and available, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we don’t promise it will be error-free or uninterrupted, that predictions will be accurate, or that information is complete or current. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can’t be limited.
11. Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost data you could have exported. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$100. These limits don’t apply to death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or anything else that can’t be limited by law.
12. Disputes
If something goes wrong, email hello@grrl.app first: most things can be sorted out quickly. These terms are governed by the laws of [State], and disputes go to the courts of [County, State], except that if you live in the UK, the EU or another country whose law gives you the right, you can bring a claim in your local courts and rely on your local consumer laws. Nothing here stops you contacting a regulator.
13. Copyright
If you believe content on Grrl infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent at hello@grrl.app (subject “Copyright”) with the details required by the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Designated agent: [name and address as registered with the US Copyright Office].
14. General
If part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce something straight away, we can still do so later. You can’t transfer this agreement; we may transfer it to someone who takes over Grrl, who must honour it and our Privacy Policy.
